No, not mine but a good friend of mine. She's due at the end of April and I can't wait to meet her sweet little Caroline. We had a shower for her at my house on Sunday and it was a blast. It was fun entertaining and certainly gave me the bug to start doing it more often (of course I had a lot of help from some special nymphs who like to stay up until midnight decorating cupcakes:)

Sing-song day
Today was wonderful as our family got to go on a beautiful hike with some good friends that were visiting from Santa Cruz. The weather was warm, the view amazing and Maya was as happy as could be to be feeling well again. So much so that she sang happy tunes the ENTIRE day. Finally we can breathe a sigh of relief....Maya is back!!! We finished the day with some homemade tacos and beer. I could do this every week....

Belated Easter
Our day-late Easter egg hunt (due to Maya's stomach flu) with her friend Mia, was a good start on her road to recovery but she's still not herself yet and we're hoping she's better very soon.
We have a little butterfly "weed" out in the backyard which is constantly housing monarch caterpillars so we were thrilled to find one of their cocoons on a pot nearby. The whole cycle is fascinating and we can't wait to see the little creature that comes out.

Happy Easter!
What a week we've had! I think I hit the top of the stressometer this past week and am hoping to catch my breath over the next few days. Matt and I flew up north Wednesday for a whirlwind trip for a custody hearing and a short visit with my mumsy. Although the custody hearing was a disaster we had a wonderful (yet too short) stay with my mom. We came home Thursday afternoon only to wake up Friday to a miserably sick Maya. I'm telling you, I've never seen anyone so desperate looking as my sweet little blued eyed beauty as she vomited the entire day away. What a helpless feeling the past few days have left us with as Maya couldn't hold anything down and hadn't eaten anything for 2 and 1/2 days. On a brighter note, she seems to be perking up tonight and I'm hoping she'll be back to her giggly, healthy and stubborn self very soon. I miss her smile. Hope you enjoyed this Easter day and that you found yourself surrounded by goodness and love.

Project Week......
The spray paint isle is my best friend this week, as I'm keeping extremely busy with refinishing decorating projects in my house. I'm priming everything I lay my eyes on for a new finish with the hopes of finally adding some personal character to my house. The walls have pretty much been bare since we moved in (2006) and I'm sick of looking at them. I'll post some photos when I actually finish some of them, but until then here are a few of the things in my house that bring me joy and comfort.

Bits of Sunshine
Feel like it's been forever since I've posted. Life has been keeping me busy and I haven't made much time for writing. Just wanted to put a couple of things up so that I don't forget. My little one has been cracking us up lately with "dinner talk". Every night we give thanks before we eat, and my little Rose has recently decided to say grace for the table. It has got to be the sweetest thing you've ever heard as she lists everything in sight...from the candles to the beans on her plate, to the photos on the wall. The most hysterical comment this past week though had to be when Bri made a comment about what the little one would look like when she got to be her sister's age. Maya belted out "I'm gonna have big boobies when I sitter's age" causing a roar of laughter at the table. She keeps us smiling constantly making us all grateful for the joy she adds to our lives. Bri shines a light all her own upon the rest of us and amazes me with her insight on life and people. She's a beautiful soul and fills me with pride each day. Hope you and your loved ones are happy and healthy.
xoxo
